Magie Matin lost her husband to cancer.  Before he died, he asked her to follow their dream, which was to open a bed-and-breakfast. With the help of her sister Marty and close friends, she gets the bed-and-breakfast up and running.

She finds herself having feelings for her husband's older brother when he shows up to pay his respects to her husband. Her mother comes back into their lives after she had left them when she was five. Her return brings up family genetics from her past and concerns that may affect her and her sister in the future.

In a box lies a Diary that reveals the secrets of her past and an uncertain future bond to unfold.

The story continues in part two of Maggie's Bed and Breakfast. The girls were getting used to their mom being back in their lives, but it wasn't long before their mom lost her battle with Memocoma. Maggie finds a book in a box of her mother's belongings that were left for her and her sisters. It turns out to be her mother's diary. Maggie keeps the book to herself as much as possible, wanting to read it first. She discovers some things that are so unbelievable that she has to wonder if they are real or just some of her mom's crazy scattered memories. Things that were hidden in the diary would change the lives of everyone around her for sure. Maggie continues to wonder just what her future hold and learns that she does not need to be related to be sisters.

A car crash brings someone new into their lives and she hopes that this will be the end of the secrets. All of this because of a box that contained a Diary full of scattered memories.

 The deception was never part of her plan. Neither was falling in love. Changing her tomboy appearance & makeup is just another disguise to conceal the birthmark on her face, and her view of stranger's stares. SAM. Now sixteen and still hiding under baseball caps and sunglasses. Dressing like a tomboy started years ago. She was perfectly happy with her looks until one day she meets a young man named Jock at a baseball field. She accepts a fill-in spot on the team letting him presume she was a boy. Unsure of her attraction toward him; her hormones take part in her desire to conceal her birthmark and dress like a girl with the aspiration of revealing her true identity. However, this turns out to be harder than she had imagined. Her deceitful pretension causes her chaos and sends her on a roller coaster ride of lies and confessions. Unaware that this would be the origin of a triangle of gentleman callers she will have to sort out the difference between love-friendship or just infatuation. Will Samantha retreat to her disguises afraid of falling in love, or will she marry the man of her dreams? 

 The story continues in Lily's by The Lake. Part three in the Maggie's Bed and Breakfast stories. Four years in the future. Maggie learns of a bed and breakfast Hotel across the lake. She built an amusement park when a mystery Carousel appeared on her property. She is now in competition. The secrets continue when they find hidden compartment in the Carousel.  It came addressed to Tina as a belated birthday gift from her late mother. The girls discovered a new relative but learned she had passed years ago. Maggie has a setback with her Memocoma when a  fire breaks out at the bed and breakfast.

 They tracked down a lung recipient after a secret that George, Tina's late father, left in a letter concealed in a wooden horse. Alex built a restaurant on his property and named it  Lily's by the lake. On quiet evenings, there is the mere presence of a shadowy figure. They call the shadow Lily.
